Things You Can Wear To Help Hide Your Diapers

When you need to wear diapers all the time you can feel quite self conscious about it. Especially when you need to wear the more absorbent and thus thicker brands.

To help combat this feeling you can choose to wear clothes that will help you hide your diapers.

To better help conceal your diapers you can wear baggy clothes, find a style of clothing that boosts your confidence, use different types of undergarments to minimize crinkle sounds, and even use various different types of incontinence clothes to ensure your diapers stay hidden.

Finding a style of clothing that accommodates the level of protection you need to wear is the way to go. It is important that you wear something that makes you feel comfortable. There are many approaches you can take to accomplish this.

Wear Baggy or Loose Fitting Clothes

A lot of people choose to wear baggier styles of clothes. Most men go with this option simply because it’s not that unusual for a guy to be wearing slightly baggier clothes to begin with.

A size up in pants and a long baggy shirt can certainly go a long way to concealing a thick diaper and bringing you peace of mind. Especially when you’re still new to the experience.

For women, you may want to consider longer skirts or dresses.

The truth is the clothes don’t really need to be all that “baggy”. YOU just need to feel comfortable wearing them.

For me, when my pants are too tight I can feel them hugging the diaper. This makes me feel like the diaper is really obvious and is creating an obvious bulge. This is a feeling you want to avoid.

It inhibits your ability to speak and move with confidence. In turn, this can cause you to look and act awkward.

This obviously can lead to some uncomfortable social situations as well as a number of other troubles. So it is really important to find clothing that brings you the peace of mind you need.

Explore Different Styles Of Clothing

To help avoid looking and acting awkward you may want to consider exploring different styles of clothing.

Studies show that the clothes you wear can have a significant impact on your mental state.

With this fact in mind, if you feel you lack confidence see if there is a new way you can dress that will fill you with pride. Choose a style of clothing that makes you FEEL POWERFUL!

You obviously want to keep in mind that this new style should be able to accommodate the level of diapers you need to wear. So while shopping around be sure to wear the thickest most absorbent diaper you might ever need to wear.

This way you can ensure that whatever you purchase will make you feel comfortable no matter the thickness of your diapers.

Use Undergarments To Minimize Crinkles

For those of us who prefer the plastic backed diapers but also feel self conscious about the potential crinkle sounds, the best thing to do is to wear some sort of undergarment.

Things like underwear, leggings, stockings, bike shorts, running shorts, and pretty much any other material that stretches are good ways to help reduce the crinkle.

The crinkle occurs because of the plastic outer shell shifting around. By wearing a snug fitting undergarment you restrict the plastic outer layer’s ability to move around.

Beyond that, it also adds another layer of sound absorption into the mix too.

The main thing to keep in mind is that whatever you choose to go with can’t be too tight.

If it is, it will cause compression leaks in the diaper. This is basically what it sounds like where the compression from the undergarment puts so much pressure on the diaper that it squeezes the fluid out.

So be sure that what you use is snug but not tight. It’s little tricks like these that help make sure your diapers don’t get noticed.

Try Adult Incontinence Onesies

An adult incontinence onesie is a one piece bodysuit much like the ones you might see toddlers wear.

We’re talking about the type of onesie that snaps in the crotch in order to make it easy to access for diaper changes.

At this point, you might be asking yourself why anyone would want to wear such an infantile type of clothing?

To start with, just like with diapers a onesie isn’t just something a baby wears. It’s a functional tool that can be useful for any adult with incontinence issues that also manages those issues with diapers.

Besides the obvious functionality of clothing, incontinence onesies help to hold the diaper in place. Especially the thicker diapers that gain a lot of weight as they absorb fluid.

Thanks to the way they button in the crotch they serve as support for the weight of an expanding diaper. This helps to ensure it’s not slipping off your bum thus helping to prevent leaking.

It also helps to make sure you’re getting the maximum use out of your padding and the most amount of time between changes. The average amount of time an adult diaper can be used for varies but I wrote another page on that topic over here.

Beyond that, the adult version also serves as peace of mind for those that get self conscious about whether or not their diaper will poke out above their waistband.

Due to the fact that they snap at the crotch they basically end up looking like a tucked in shirt. The only difference is this shirt can never come untucked.

So if you bend over a lot or your pants sag off your butt, your diaper won’t be exposed to the whole world.

These types of onesies are made in professional collared styles so they look like a normal polo t-shirt as well as fun prints to express yourself with.

The one thing I would advise to be aware of is that onesies can make telling when you need to change a bit more difficult. One sensation I use to determine when I need to change is the weight I feel between my legs.

When I’m wearing a onesie, since it holds the diaper up I don’t notice the growing weight as much. This is good in some sense because it helps to ensure the diaper gets fully used.

I have noticed whenever I wear a good onesie that the diaper gets fully soaked more often due to the fact that I’m not being discomforted by the growing weight.

So they can potentially help reduce waste if they allow you to get more use out of a diaper.

On the other hand, if you’re sitting in a very wet diaper for longer than you really should be then that could lead to rashes. That is why whenever I’m wearing a onesie for the day I actually need to do a visual look and physical feel of my diaper every so often to ensure I’m not wearing it for too long.

Just keep these things in mind if you choose to use any onesies yourself.

Try Wearing Adult Plastic Pants

Adult plastic pants are generally made and used for cloth diapers. They are designed to contain the fluid inside the cloth diaper.

When paired with disposable diapers they are used to help be an extra layer of protection against leaks, contain smells, and help hold the diaper up in place.

I personally don’t have a lot of experience using these sorts of products yet so I cannot personally attest to how well they function for these uses.

I will most definitely be covering them in more depth in the future though.

While I fully expect they would be helpful for containing leaks and possibly holding your diaper up in place, I’m far more skeptical how well they can contain the smell of a bowel accident.

Some people do say they use them for that purpose but I’m of the mindset that one should really excuse themselves to change as soon as possible when a bowel accident occurs. I think that trying to hide it and keep it a secret is far more damaging than just owning it and taking care of it.

Of course, this isn’t always an option in some circumstances and in those cases, you may be happy you were wearing plastic pants to contain the smell.

I’m definitely going to have to put that one to the test someday just to see how effective it can be at containing the smell of a bowel accident. It definitely could come in handy if it works.
